"If Trees Could Talk" is a historic
sharing of stories, folklore and the authentic history of
coastal communities. The stories are told by local story tellers
from the perspective of the ancient oaks lining the coast.
This production was developed prior to Katrina as a way to
promote the historic value of the stately trees and to promote
eco tourism. Now that Katrina has occurred, the stories have
even new meaning. Throughout the tape the resilience of the
coast people is shared as well as the impact of past hurricanes.
Learn about the coast people and how the coastal communities
came to be through this fascinating journey along the Mississippi
